In a similar fashion, dogs also require adequate levels of these. Here are some things you need to know about vitamin B complex for dogs:

Remember dogs are omnivores…
Did you know that in the wild, canines are known to eat fruits and other vegetation? Unfortunately the modern dog’s diet usually consists of dry dog food in a bag. Sure, it provides plenty of carbohydrates and protein, but is it also giving your dog all the necessary nutrients?

Not only are humans becoming more conscience of our nutrition, but we’re also becoming more aware of our pets’ nutrition. For this reason, loving pet owners are asking their vets about supplements for their dogs and cats at an ever increasing rate.

Why a B complex for dogs?
Well, dogs also need B complex vitamins to support their health. Just like in humans, these eight B vitamins support various functions in a dogs body, including the nervous system, circulatory system, metabolism, skin, eyes, mouth, reproduction system, fur, and more.

Which vitamins make up the super B complex for dogs?
It’s the same eight that are considered vital for humans: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B 12. Because many of these work best in synergy (together) it is considered a better choice to take a super B complex, rather than using them individually.

Can vitamin B complex be overdosed on?
Just like vitamin C, the B vitamins are water soluble (meaning they leave the body in urine) so they are only in our system for a matter of hours at a time. Contrast this to fat soluble vitamins (like E) which are stored in the body. It’s extremely rare for humans or dogs to overdose on super B complex. In fact, according to the Veterinary & Aquatic Services Department at Drs. Foster & Smith, they are “not aware of a single toxicity case ever having been documented in either dogs or cats.”

Vitamin B complex for dogs dosage?
According to the aforementioned source, the minimum daily dosage for dogs is as follows:

Make sure you talk to your vet to find out their dosage recommendations, too.

Where to buy vitamin B complex for dogs?
The great part about vitamins and dietary supplements is that it often is possible to use “human” versions as long as the dosage is converted over to your dogs weight (at least when it comes to water soluble vitamins, like B complex). This can save you a lot of money. The best places to buy them are online vitamin stores because you can buy higher quality supplements for less than even the cheap store-brand version. The other benefit of buying human vitamins is that you can find natural versions, which are rarely available in “dog” vitamins.

If someone has a vitamin B complex deficiency, they have a potentially life threatening problem on their hands. The reason why super B complex deficiency is so serious is because it refers to the eight B vitamins which are essential to human life… without them, our life is jeopardy.

Let’s talk about the eight B complex vitamins and some of the side effects which have been associated with deficiency:

B1/Thiamine – Deficiency symptoms: upset stomach, irritability, lack of energy, memory problems, trouble sleeping,

B2/Riboflavin – Deficiency symptoms: visual problems, skin and tongue inflammation, hair loss, reddening/cracking of the lip corners, trouble sleeping, mental problems

B3/Niacin – Deficiency symptoms: pellagra, which was nicknamed the “four D’s disease” a century ago (dermatitis, dementia diarrhea, death).

B5/Pantothenic Acid – Deficiency symptoms: studies have been done which prove this is essential to human life, but fortunately it’s found in so many foods that deficiency reportedly does not occur

B6/Pyridoxine – Deficiency symptoms: anemia in adults, convulsions in children

B7/Biotin - Deficiency symptoms: a red rash which is scaly in feeling and appearance, hair loss

B9/Folic Acid – Deficiency symptoms: if a pregnant mother is deficiency there are serious birth defects which can occur and if the baby is deficient after birth it can cause anemia

B12/Cobalamins – Deficiency symptoms: permanent nervous system and brain damage, anemia,

An Important Note
Please understand that I am not a medical professional. I’m only a person who studies health and nutrition as a hobby. Therefore, if you believe you may have a vitamin B complex deficiency, you need to speak to a doctor – don’t try to self diagnose or self treat. The information on this site is not medical advice.

Should you be worried about B complex deficiency?
Before you freak out, there are a couple important things to make note of. First of all, many of the B complex deficiency symptoms can be caused by totally different things also. Secondly, deficiency is extremely rare in developed nations since we eat balanced diets. However, there are a couple ways it can still occur…

(1) People who have poor absorption due to digestive problems
When this is the case, doctors may recommend a liquid vitamin B complex for easier absorption and/or they may administer injections

(2) It’s impossible for people who adhere to a strictly plant based to obtain B12 from their food
If this describes you, then a vitamin B12 supplement is absolutely necessary, which can be obtained through a vitamin store.

A: Nowadays, people peddle vitamins and supplements for all sorts of ailments and conditions, including weight loss. But will vitamin B complex actually help you in your quest to drop pounds? Let’s take a look…

First of all it’s important to understand what the vitamin B complex (also referred to as the super B complex) actually is. It consists of eight different B vitamins which are essential (necessary) for human health. These are B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B12. They all go by different names too; for example, riboflavin is another name for B2.

But does a vitamin B complex for weight loss actually make sense? Well, the FDA says that vitamins cannot be marketed to cure, prevent or treat and disease or condition. So whether or not they help, it would be extremely difficult for someone to sell them for this purpose.

There are a number of doctors that claim increased B12 intake may help with weightloss. In turn, they promote things like injections or a B12 patch as a way to get more. While it’s true that this vitamin is essential for metabolic energy production, most people in any developed country get plenty of it naturally, so often times those things probably aren’t needed. The one exception are those whom are unable to absorb it properly when they consume it in their food.

So does the vitamin B complex weight loss system make sense? Well I’m no doctor, so you will need to ask yours to find out the answer.

A: Thanks for your question. I understand how frustrating hair loss can be. We grow up with a full head of hair, not giving much thought as to whether or not we will have that hair later on. The vast majority of men will experience hair loss in their life, some worse than others. But will a vitamin B complex actually help?

The truth of the matter is that hair loss is one of those problems science still doesn’t entirely understand yet. After all, if we did, we would have invented a cure by now! So that brings us to your question… will B complex for hair have any effect?

Well, the super B complex does consists of vitamins which some say promotes healthy hair, like biotin (B7) and others. For general health, it’s a good idea to receive the RDA of nutrients anyway. Whether it will help your hair? There’s no way to know for sure. That being said, the vitamin B complex for hair probably wouldn’t hurt, especially since our bodies needs these essential B vitamins anyway.

A: In one word… YES! This category is made up of the fundamental B vitamins which are mandatory for human life. If you aren’t consuming enough of them naturally (or your body isn’t absorbing enough of it) then you will need to get B complex vitamins from another source.

Which B vitamins are included in the complex?
Did you know there are dozens of different B vitamins? However many of them appear to have no nutritional value. Under the basic definition, the complex is the category of the eight “B’s” which our bodies must have; B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B12. Don’t be shocked if you haven’t heard of some of these numbers, because many are more commonly known by different names – i.e. folic acid is actually B9. Each of them serve various purposes but many of their benefits overlap, too. There are roughly twenty of vitamins. In addition to these 8, there are roughly 15 to 20 other known (or suspected) vitamins in this family, but scientists have concluded they don’t serve any nutritional purpose for humans.
Are B complex vitamin supplements required?

If you have a balanced diet and have a normal functioning body then you probably get all of the essential B’s and a supplement is not required. But some (specifically B12) only come from animal proteins, so if you are a vegan than you cannot get them without taking a supplement of some type. So in a nutshell, the chances are that most of us get the recommended daily allowance (RDA) naturally. But, there is quite a bit of research out there that appears to suggest that intake greater than that amount may offer additional benefits for some B vitamins.

What are the alleged benefits of extra B vitamins?
Because some vitamin B’s are necessary for energy production in your cells, they are most known for their energy benefits. It’s also interesting when you consider that every one of us has a different absorption rate and requirement for the B complex vitamins.

Therefore, even though the base requirement is the recommended daily allowance, it’s a known fact that some people need and benefit from more than that amount. For example, those whom do not absorb the average amount and those whom simply need more. This is why those whom are involved in sports and certain physical activities that have above-average energy needs are often given a B12 patch, supplement, or shot.

A: Coenzyme B complex is certainly no scam. Once you understand the reasoning behind it, you will see why it’s reportedly the best choice.

Most supplements use a form of B vitamins which is not utilized by the body. It first must convert it to a coenzyme. Since the complex contains essential B vitamins needed for survival, it’s probably best to not take any chances with absorption. The great thing about the B complex coenzyme vitamin is it’s reportedly already in the natural state your body uses it – therefore more easily and efficiently absorbed.

I’m not saying that all hard (non-liquid) supplements out there have this problem though. There are many nowadays which are softer and can reportedly be absorbed rather easily. But they’re not all the same so you need to research this when buying. Personally I like to take chewable versions too, because once you chew them in your mouth, they seem to turn in to basically powder. That combined with your saliva or a glass of water makes it pretty close to being a liquid, right? The other benefit with them is that when you are on the go it is hard to walk around with B complex sublingual liquid or any other vitamin in that form. Whether they’re as good as the liquid or not, I do feel the chewable versions are your second best choice when you’re not at home.

What is a Sublingual Liquid?
If you’re new to this arena, you may be wondering what this phrase means exactly. Well, the definition of “sublingual” refers to the glands which are under your tongue. Like many mucus membranes in our body, these can absorb what comes in contact with them. This is the reason so many people use sublingual vitamin B 12 – if you have a digestive system that doesn’t work the right way, then it may not be absorbing the B12 even if you’re consuming enough of it in your normal diet (and most people do). By using the liquid form, reportedly some of it can be absorbed under the tongue and hence assisting with the issue of not being able to absorb it normally.

An Important Note About Buying Liquid Vitamins
From my experience, I have to buy mine online simply because stores don’t carry them (or they only carry a very limited selection). I don’t mind doing this though because it saves me a lot of money, too.

Some manufacturers recommend storing their super B complex sublingual liquid in your fridge. Meanwhile others specifically say that is not necessary. So once you get yours, make sure you look on the label to check and follow whatever they recommend for that particular product.

Well once you understand the super B complex benefits, the answer for this one is pretty clear: it’s worth it.

The “super” complex contains all of the essential B vitamins. Not only are these B vitamins necessary to sustain life, but there’s also a wide array of benefits that comes with them… they help your heart, boost your immune system , and your body needs them for energy production. So it’s clear why B complex vitamins are so beneficial.

We obtain B vitamins in what we eat. They are most commonly found in meat and dairy. It’s not possible to obtain them all through plant derived food alone. In fact, B12 is not found in any quantity whatsoever in plants. Rather, bacteria inside bodies create it through what is known as biosynthesis.

So many people nowadays think they can just skip taking their vitamins because they’re not needed. I used to think the same way. I figured because I had a healthy diet that I didn’t need them. I thought that I got all these things naturally, and buying some silly supplements were just a waste of time and money. Well nothing could be further from the truth. This is especially true if you consume you don’t consume adequate amounts of each food group (as discussed above). It’s completely fine to go veg, but you just want to make sure you buy supplements to get the necessary vitamins and minerals.

Super B Complex History
It was initially discovered by Elmer McCollum sometime around 1915 to 1916 (the exact date is not known). Initially it was thought to be a single vitamin, but in the years and decades that followed scientists discovered there were actually a number of different B vitamins. A super B complex benefits the body by including all of them which are essential and necessary for life.

Super B Complex Energy Benefits
All your cells in your body have something in common, and that is that they all need the essential B vitamins in order to metabolize energy properly. You probably already get enough of them through what you consume. But sometimes, people have stomach, intestines, etc. which are not normal. This could be due to aging, to surgery, or unfortunately just part of aging. Whatever the case, if you’re not getting enough (or simply not absorbing enough) then you will want to chat with your doctor to find out if you need something like a super B complex to restore your body to normal levels.
